• To discuss the major issues surrounding M&E
of ART-PSM systems such as accountability, continuous
improvement, sharing of “lessons learnt” and
“best practices”, avoiding duplication through
encouraging single M&E systems at country and regional
levels;
• To provide practical tools to decision makers
and staff working in HIV/AIDS programs to ensure accountability
and to improve their level of performance;
• To encourage the exchange of views and experiences
between senior officers and decision makers.
•To develop M&E indicators for procurement and
supply management.
• To write the outline of a plan for M&E of
a PSM system for the participant’s organization. |

timely availability and efficient management of HIV/AIDS
medicines and medical supplies presents one of the major
challenges for healthcare providers especially in developing
countries. Such challenges are further compounded by the
increasing number of stakeholders with different funding

using Artemesinin based combination therapies (ACTs) has
come to the forefront and a number of countries in are
in the process of scaling up the use of ACTs to appropriately
cover both the public and private sectors. Today, there
are various combinations of ACTs and the number of ACTs
manufacturers is increasing. This course aims at building
participants’ capacity to manage the procurement
and supply chain of ACTs.
