Global Health has become
a vital area of study and action in public health across
the world. The World Health Organization (WHO) has given
clear guidelines for its member countries on how best
to incorporate it into their work. As for the Pan-American
Health Organization (PAHO), has relaunched their International
Health Program with the active participation of various
countries in the Americas, and in April of 2010 it will
carry out the First Latin American and Caribbean Conference
on Global Health in Cuernavaca, Mexico. Chile is arriving
late to the field of global health, and it is necessary
that soon institutions, both academic and service based,
incorporate it into their work. Through this international
course, the School of Public Health, with the collaboration
with prominent international experts, will deliver the
theoretical and practical bases of this new discipline.
