As an answer to the need to
extend quality health services throughout the country, the
Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Cambodia developed
national health policy and guidelines and started the implementation
of the Health Care System Reform Plan since three years.
One of the main problems to successfully implement the new
strategies besides lack of infrastructure, equipment, medical
material and budget for running cost, is the poor competency
of health personnel as well in technical quality as in managerial
capacity. The training of district health managers is seen
as a critical element in the implementation of the Health
Coverage Plan.
Objective of the course: Improve managerial skills in order
to enable provincial/district management teams to implement
the Health Care System Reform in Cambodia; Direct expected
result: Improve knowledge and skills necessary for health
services management Expected output: Improve organisation
and management of operational districts Expected long-term
