Objectives/
Content |

The objectives of the CBHD course are to:
1. Acquire a clear understanding of Primary Health Care and Community Development.
2. Learn practical skills to effectively manage projects for the urban and rural community.
3. Develop the skills necessary to make Community diagnosis, write a program proposal, generate resources, develop tools to monitor and evaluate projects.
Content:
1. Principle of Community Based Health & Development:
Concepts of Primary Health Care;
Approaches to health care; Community Participation; Training of Village Health Workers; Principles of Empowerment and Equity; The use of Appropriate Technology.
2. Acquiring and Using Information: Collection and use of health information; Health Information System; Monitoring and Evaluation; Writing reports
3. Developing skills: Personal Development; Understanding group dynamics; Conflict resolution,
Effective listening and Communication; Training skills
4. Managing Projects: Principles of Management; Setting objectives and standards; Team building; Managing change; Time Management; Motivating staff; Evaluating performance
5. Financial Management: Financial Planning; Budgeting; Fund raising; Writing project proposals. |

| Requirements |
|
The training is designed for Doctors, Nurses, Social workers, Project Managers and other persons involved in rural health and development work. Working knowledge of English is essential. |
