The goal of the Conference is to analyse and
discuss how health systems, services and health professions
education adapt and readapt to the local needs of populations
according to the historical, political and cultural influences
they receive over time. Participants will approach the
Conference topic from their own experiences and practices.
Community site visits to different initiatives, taking
place in the city-region of Bogotá-Cundinamarca,
will show how health services, health education institutions
and communities are adapting to rapidly changing social
conditions of the existing diverse population groups.
Post-Conference Excursion October 3 - 5, 2008
We look forward to welcoming you in Chía-Bogotá
and at one of the Post-Conference Excursions to Nabusímake
or Agua de Dios.

education and health services?
* How can changes in the health professions education
and health services be evaluated to monitor their response
to local needs? |

Faculty, administrators and students of educational institutions for health and social care professions (for example, medicine, nursing, dentistry, odontology, pharmacy, nutrition, public health, environmental health, physiotherapy, medical radiation science, speech and occupational therapy, health and patient education, social work, health policy, health administration, library and information sciences), and health care providers constitute one set of participants in this Conference. The other target population encompasses representatives of communities, local health organisations, societies of health professionals and authorities who are (or would like to become) involved in increasing the accountability of academic health institutions towards community health by guiding health professions and institutional agendas. |
