The objective of the programme is to prepare leaders
in health systems research, strategic planning and development.
The programme will develop professionals with comprehensive
skills in health and social sector policy assessment, analysis
and implementation, with conceptual and technical skills
in institutional management. The objective is to educate
them to function at al levels of social sectors, particularly
health, at federal, provincial or local, public or private;
and in all settings such as academic schools, research institutes,
advocacy groups, and service organisations like hospitals,
clinics or primary health care centres. |

| Requirements |
|
Admission to the programme is based on academic merit and potential for leadership. Merit will be evaluated through scholastic achievement of applicants and their perfomance in the AKU-MSc HPM Admission Test. Leadership potential will be assessed on the basis interviews, past experience and future plans. Appplicants from the public or private sector from Pakistan and overseas may apply. A high academic score in any single discipline or any outstandig achievemnt alons is not suffiecient for selection.
Criteria for Application:
Candidates who have at least two years experience in the
health and / or social sectors and hold one of the following
degrees are eligible to apply:
- an MBBS degree
- a Masters degree
- a four-year bachelor's undergraduate degree or equivalent e.g. BScN; BDS; DVM

the following skills:

b) State-of-the-art experimental approach (through research work)

This programme offers advanced courses and research in the basic medical sciences as well as in the cellular and molecular biology of cancer, infectious diseases, nutrition, cardiovascular disorders, metabolic diseases, neurosciences and molecular genetics. |

- AMasters degree in one of the biological sciences;
- An MBBS or DVM degree;
- A four-year bachelor ’s degree or equivalent in a biological science including pharmacy.

| Requirements |
|
Applicants in the public or private sector who have two years full time experience in nursing,
throughout Pakistan and overseas may apply.
Following are the eligibility criteria for application to the direct MScN programme:
• Successful completion of BScN;
• Current RN licensure in Pakistan or equivalent;
OR
Candidates who do not possess a BScN but have a BSc/BA/BCom (general academic programme) may also apply. They will be considered on a provisional basis and will be required to successfully complete an additional one year Transition Programme.
Government employees will be given provisional admission, pending relevant NOC before the first day of school. |
