The Geneva Seminar on Health
and Globalization is a unique experience. Launched in
2006, as a one country initiative, the 2008 Seminar brings
together medical, nursing and allied health professionals
from diverse countries who are interested in global health
from a practical perspective. Participants are interested
not only in learning about global health, but in actively
being engaged and even developing carees in global health.
The 2008 Geneva Seminar is held parallel to the meeting
of ministers of health from around the world gathered
in Geneva, for the World Health Assembly. Participants
of this year will have an exciting opportounity to observe
close at hand the crafting of policies and programs that
would influence global health in the coming years.
The program progresses from general to specific topics:
- Basic Concepts of Global Health
- Millennium Development Goals
- Global Health Policies and Programs
- Skills for putting International Health Concepts Into
Practice
- Instititutional Settings for practicing Global Health
- Challenges in Developping Countries
- Case Studies, Themes and specific Organizations
