Für Personen, die sich auf einen längeren Aufenthalt in einer tropischen/subtropischen Region vorbereiten. Die TeilnehmerInnen erhalten Informationen über allgemeine medizinische Vorbereitungen für einen Tropenaufenthalt, kennen Präventionsmàglichkeiten und wissen, wie sie bei Gesundheitsproblemen reagieren müssen.
Der Kurs eignet sich nicht für Leute, die den "Allgemeinen Tropenkurs" (7 Wochen) beim Schweizerischen Tropeninstitut in Basel bereits besucht haben, und nur bedingt für Leute mit einer medizinischen Ausbildung.

Ces dernières années, les conditions de sécurité dans les pays en voie de développement se sont malheureusement bien aggravées. Une suite d'événements démontre que les collaborateurs et collaboratrices des organisations de CI sont de plus en plus souvent confrontés à des actes de violence. Le séminaire permet au participant-e-s d'évaluer les risques et de connaître les risques et de connaître les mesures préventives; d'être conscient-e-s des liens entre stress et sécurité et de connaître les méthodes de suivi pour personnes ayant subi des traumatismes.
